Dollar Tree Bunny Wreath Step-by-Step Tutorial
Materials needed
Instructions
Step 1: Wrap the Wreath Shape
Start by wrapping the white thread around the circular section of the wreath shape. Start on one side of one of the ears and secure the thread in place by threading it through one of the wire loops. You can add a little hot glue if you want to hold the thread firmly.
Continue wrapping the yarn tightly around the circle until the entire circular wreath section is covered, ensuring a full, even look to make a lovely fluffy Easter bunny.
Step 2: Add Bunny Ears
To add the bunny ears to the wreath, place a line of hot glue along the wire ear section. Connect the main section of the thread (from which the loops hang) to the wire with glue. Repeat for the other ear. Be careful not to burn yourself with the hot glue!
Step 3: Finish the Yarn Wreath
Once you’ve covered the Easter bunny’s ears, wrap the yarn around the bare section between the ears and anywhere else needed, until the entire wreath shape is covered with the looped white yarn.
Trim the excess thread with scissors and secure it by tying the thread through one of the loops. Add a little more hot glue for added security if you like.
Step 4: Make a Ribbon Bow Tie
To add a bow tie for the Easter bunny, cut a piece of pink burlap ribbon, about 18 inches long. Fold the ribbon into thirds, overlapping the ends to create a bow shape about 6 inches long. Wrap the center of the bow (where the ends are) with thread and tie or glue the ends of the thread in place on the back of the bow.
Step 5: Add the Bow Tie to the Bunny
Use a generous amount of hot glue to secure the center of the bow (where the yarn is) to the bottom of the yarn covered bunny wreath form. Bulk yarn can make it difficult to stick the bow, so you may want to use floral wire or pipe cleaners for extra hold.
hanging the crown
You can easily hang the wreath with a hook to attach one of the wire wreath rings. If that doesn’t work in your situation, use ribbon or floral wire to make a bow and attach it to the back of the wreath.
Dollar Tree Easter Bunny Wreath Variations
While the classic white bunny wreath is charming on its own, you can customize your creation in several ways to suit your tastes with these different wreath designs:
- Colorful bunny: Experiment with different colors of yarn to create a rainbow of bunny wreaths, perfect for adding a pop of color to your Easter decor. Use pastel pink, yellow, purple or blue to look like Peeps bunny candy!
- Floral accents: Swap out the bow tie for a floral boutonniere, or enhance your spring wreath with faux flowers or greenery, weaving them through yarn or hot-gluing them together for a vibrant, festive touch.
- Custom details: Add embellishments like pom poms, buttons, or miniature Easter eggs to give your wreath extra personality and charm.

Continue wrapping the thread tightly around the circle until the entire section is covered, ensuring a complete, uniform appearance.

To create the bunny ears, use the hot glue gun to coat the wire with a thin strip of glue, then place the long section of thread (the loops hang from it) along the wire. Repeat this step for both ears, being careful not to burn yourself with the hot glue.

Once the ears are in place, continue wrapping the yarn around the remaining portion of the crown between the ears, filling it completely. Trim the excess thread with scissors and secure the end by tying it through one of the loops.

To add a decorative bow, cut an 18-inch piece of pink burlap ribbon. Fold the ribbon into thirds, overlapping the ends to create a bow shape. Secure the center of the bow with twine and then attach it to the wreath form with hot glue.
