Possible ingredients to use for your own glass cleaner:

There are so many homemade window cleaner recipes that float around the Internet and Pinterest that it may be difficult to decide which one is the best for you. Next, I have compiled popular natural ingredients options for glass cleaning. My recipe works better for me, but you may want to experiment with other additives depending on your particular needs.

  • Distilled water It is the best, since it is free of minerals that are generally found in hard water and can cause water spots.
  • Alcohol It dissolves quickly reducing stripes and is a powerful dissinfectant and disinfectant.
  • White vinegar It contains acetic acid that helps decompose mineral deposits, water spots and stubborn dirt without harmful surfaces.
  • Corn starch It can be used as a soft abrasive that can help evict stubborn particles in dirty windows.
  • Baking soda It is a more abrasive substance, but it can also help eliminate mineral deposits, filter waste and other particles. Use it with caution. In the main hard water spots, I turn it into a paste and the bush in the windows instead of adding it in the spray.
  • Essential oils It can help dissolve oils and fatty spots, customize their homemade solutions and give a finish without stripes. Citrus essential oils in particular have cleaning properties.
  • Liquid soapWhen used in moderation, you can eliminate fat and accumulation, but if it is added too much, stripes can be a problem. Dawn dishes soap is the best commercial dishes when it comes to undoing.
  • Lemon juice It is slightly acidic and cuts the fat and dumbs it easily.

Recipe notes:

If you have washed your glass for years with Windex or Formula 409, your glass will have a subtle zeros movie. By adding soap for dishes, you can eliminate this quite easily.

** For additional fat cutting action, add 5-10 drops of soap to this recipe.

By adding essential oils to my cleaning products, I commit to the quality of essential oil. I buy 4 oz. bottles of THIS Brand and just use them in DIY CLEANING PRODUCTS. You will find that the aromas are not compared to a higher quality of essential oil, but when it comes to domestic tasks and DIY cleaning products, I prefer to save money in this way. As this product rehorates again and again, it makes sense. If you are only testing this DIY, do not hesitate to use your highest quality oils if that is what you have at hand. Once you decide whether this is something that will redo, you can consider buying large bottles of a cheaper essential oil.

This recipe makes 16 oz. Because it contains half vinegar, it has a smell initially, but dissipates after a few minutes of cleaning. See below if you prefer to make a recipe based on alcohol to avoid the smell of vinegar.

Tips and tricks for brightness without stripes:

  • Use the right tools. A microfiber or cloth cloth is better. A brush is also a great addition. Paper towels actually leave dust and fluff. You believe it or not, coffee filters also work very well!
  • Avoid cleaning the windows in the heat of the day. The hot glass will make its glass cleaner dry too fast and this could leave stripes and spots. A cloudy day is a good day to clean the windows, especially out of the windows.
  • After spraying, wait before cleaning. If you allow the window cleaner to feel, you have time to loosen dirt and dirt.
  • Using a dry and dry microfiber cloth, eliminate dust and dirt release first to get better results without streaks.
  • Clean your windows with warm water. Warm or hot water has a better capacity to clean more thoroughly.
