On May 15th I officially entered a new decade. 40! It still feels surreal to say that number out loud, but more than anything, it feels empowering. I spent the day in quiet gratitude, reflecting on how far I’ve come, how much I’ve grown, and the beautiful journey that still awaits me. These are my Reflections at 40: A historic birthday surrounded by love.
Then came May 17th, the day of my birthday party, and wow, what a celebration it was! My heart is still so full. I was surrounded by love from every corner: my family flew in from Canada and the UK, friends traveled from different states in the US, and together we made memories that I will cherish forever. To add to the milestone celebration, I took a trip to Phuket, Thailand, which was AMAZING!
A milestone worth celebrating
Turning 40 is a very personal and powerful milestone. It’s the age when you start to truly accept who you are, not just who the world wants you to be. It is a space of trust, clarity, calm. For me, it’s a reminder that grace and growth can coexist, and that beauty radiates most when you are aligned with your purpose. For me, it couldn’t be more aligned with my purpose and what I want out of life.
The past year has brought with it a host of challenges and transformations, especially navigating changes in health, evolving motherhood, and building something new with my brand. But I have never felt more rooted. More in my skin. More myself. I have found peace in everything around me. I will always be full of gratitude. There is nothing better than being surrounded by my family and people who truly love me and want the best for me. Life is beautiful and I thank God for this journey to the horizon.
The party: a red carpet moment at home
For the celebration I wanted something unforgettable: glamorous but intimate. The dress code? «Vanity Fair meets the Cannes red carpet». My guests did not disappoint. From velvet tuxedos to floor length dresses, everyone brought their A-game and of course I wore a custom made black dress and then I put on this one. helsa purple dress which I also used the beige version for my birthday photoshoot (check that out on my instagram). Our home was transformed into an elegant, dreamy space filled with laughter, champagne toasts, dancing, delicious food, and heartfelt moments.
