Constantly cold? We recommend the half-zip jacket for anyone who’s always cold, but the full-zip jacket is 50 percent off right now and promises to be just as cozy. Those leggings I mentioned? Is this. I have three pairs and the first pair I bought three or four years ago still hold up and fit like my newer pairs. The ribbed material is form-fitting and forgiving, two words I wouldn’t normally combine. These leggings have helped me with everything from postpartum to climbing a huge indoor wall. There’s a pocket on each side that’s big enough to fit the latest iPhones (although I’ve never filled a Max, so your mileage may vary if your phone is extra large).

WIRED Chief Commercial Officer Martin Cizmar recommends the Zion Stretch Pants for their excellent fit and strong yet flexible fabric. They are made almost entirely of recycled nylon. These pants are designed for outdoor activities with roll-up leg snaps and an adjustable waistband with bouldering straps, mesh-lined pockets, plus a hidden zipper pocket and elastic key loop. It also promises UPF 50+ sun protection for your legs. Martin likes the fit to fall between modern wide-leg pants and slimmer pant styles.

While I’m tempted to buy a fourth pair of my favorite leggings, what I need is a new bag of chalk. I’m back at the climbing gym after taking advantage of a New Year’s sale and boy, my hands need all the chalk they can get to stay even on a V0.
