The Princess of Wales was in family rooms for a visit to RAF Coningsby. 
The air station is located in Lincolnshire, approximately 3 and a half hours north of Windsor.
It is the training station for Typhoon pilots and home to two frontline squadrons. 
The Princess was appointed Honorary Royal Air Commodore of RAF Coningsby in August 2023. 
The Princess observed the Typhoon closely.

During her visit, Kate saw one of these aircraft before visiting the Typhoon Future Synthetic Training Facility, a recently opened site that offers integrated training environments for pilots.

The Princess even took the controls of a flight simulator and performed a loop on her first visit to RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire…
And he shared how his youngest son, Louis, is interested in becoming a fighter pilot, but added: «I’m going to tell (his kids) it takes eight years and a lot of hard work.»
Speaking afterwards, Group Captain Paul O’Grady, station commander, said: «She seems to be a natural pilot, so we may have to qualify her and have her fly a Typhoon, if she’s up for it.»
The Princess also spent time in a communal space called ‘The Lounge’, where she met members of the base’s Welfare Team.

Corporal Emily Winks sat down for a cup of tea with the Princess of Wales, where she spoke about her role and contribution to the station.
He described Catherine as «passionate about the military.»
SO Dan Field added: «He seemed very curious and very interested in what we had to say.»

While enjoying refreshments in the common area, Her Royal Highness received three airplane stuffed animals for her children George, Charlotte and Louis, which she says they will love.
The mother of three then spoke to staff about the importance of community and belonging, especially for young recruits who have just joined the military.
She said: “That sense of community, that sense of family is very important to them.

When presented with three Typhoon models for his children, a team member told him: “Someone told us that their children were very excited because they saw a plane.”
The princess replied: “They will be very angry because I have seen a typhoon without them.”
Before leaving, the princess met with supporters gathered at the base.

The Princess of Wales met with dozens of people today at the Lincolnshire base and, according to our reporter, the only phrase on everyone’s lips is: «She was down to earth.»
The royal impressed staff with her kind nature and genuine interest in their lives.
Gaynor Benjamin, 55, said: «She was very relaxed, like someone we could talk to. She seemed interested in our lives.»
Rebecca Benjamin, 26, added that it was «a lot more sensible» than she expected.
It seems that the princess has made new friends.
Including a four-legged friend he met earlier during the visit.

The princess brought back an Alexander McQueen top, which was first noticed when she wore it to Holocaust Memorial Day in 2021. Women’s Ribbed Knit Long Sleeve Sweater in Melange Gray (last season, no longer available) features a crew neck, back slit and directional ribbing, including a center strip at the front and back.
It seems that the princess used it. Gianvito 85 pumps in navy blue suede ($795), a pointed-toe style with a 3.3″ heel.
Her hair was partially tied up. 
The princess’s jewelery included sapphire and diamond earrings and the RAF Air Arm Fleet pin. I show it worn today and also on Remembrance Sunday 2025 (below right). 
Another brief note today, this one related to the appearance of a tiara for the princess. Sort of, sort of, okay, not really. I mean a tiara on a cowboy hat. 
The Princess appeared wearing the hat as part of a social media post wishing good luck to the England Red Roses ahead of their match against Canada in the Women’s Rugby World Cup. 
The Red Roses emerged victorious from the match, beating Team Canada 33-13.
