🎶 La di dah, di-dah-di-dum ‘it’s autumn…. Over and over in my head lately but I don’t care. Fall brings me so much joy even if it’s 90 degrees in October! Every year I go crazy for pumpkin spice. I can’t stop! I’m still not over it and like I said, pumpkin spiced everything makes me very happy. So today I’m sharing two quick and easy homemade sprays that smell like all the goodness of fall. It may even inspire you to clean nooks and crannies you never saw coming!

I took one for the team with this post. I have a basket full of essential oil blends and fragrance oils in the quest to find the BEST pumpkin spice scent, natural and unnatural, that can be used in DIY. I think I’ve found you an option in both camps, so if you love pumpkin spice and are looking for more ways to incorporate it into your home, I’ve got you covered.

Pumpkin Spice Essential Oil Blend and Fragrance

Pumpkin Spice Scent Options:

I’m not a very good girl when it comes to pumpkin spice. In fact, I’m absolutely terrible when it comes to keeping scents natural. I buy every pumpkin spice candle I see. TJ Maxx and Marshalls have been seeing me quite a bit lately. Don’t get me started on my 20-year love affair with Yankee’s Pumpkin Spice. I also purchased several fragrance oils and essential oil blends that claim to be pumpkin spice. I’ve even tried my own blends. One in particular caught the attention of my husband who was NO impressed. I am shameless and have no regrets. However, I keep the windows open as much as possible, which helps dissipate the toxic fumes. We also buy THIS air purifier. I’ll let you know if we like it.

For these homemade pumpkin spice spray recipes, I have 2 scent options for you. I found Plant Therapy Pumpkin Spice Essential Oil Blend It’s quite lovely and a very good natural alternative to artificial fragrances. So if you want to try this essential oil blend and stay healthy, I give it my seal of approval. I also tried several fragrance oils and found one that I really love. If you don’t mind getting a little dirty with your sprays, THIS one is my favorite.

The artificial fragrance is aroma of the air. Below is what they claim about their fragrance oils…

  • Safe Clean Quality Fragrance Oils: As a fragrance manufacturer, we pride ourselves on producing the highest quality and concentration of oils that are IFRA compliant, non-GMO, vegan, and free of synthetic dyes, parabens, phthalates, and carrier oils.

I will try more of their fragrance and use this one in an upcoming DIY Christmas gift wood wick candle project. If you’ve tried making candles, you know that essential oils don’t actually have a lot of scent when used in a candle.

Amber glass spray bottle with all-purpose cleaner spray.

Homemade Pumpkin Spice All-Purpose Cleaning Spray Recipe:

This recipe is based on a 16 ounce glass spray bottle.

Use this all-purpose cleaning spray on all non-wood surfaces. If using on wood, be careful as alcohol can strip or damage the wood. I use this spray on door knobs, stainless steel, sinks, toilets, inside the microwave, stoves, tile and concrete floors and even inside my car. I found that with the addition of castile soap, this spray is not perfect for glass. May leave subtle streaks. It leaves a good amount of pumpkin scent everywhere I use it! This cleaner is a huge improvement over my usual vinegar cleaning spray!

Pumpkin Spice DIY Room Spray Glass Spray Bottle

Pumpkin Spice Spray Recipe:

This recipe is based on a 6.8 ounce glass spray bottle.

You can add more drops of fragrance if you wish. It depends on your personal preference. Since this is an artificial fragrance, it is stronger than an essential oil blend, so start small.

You can use this room spray on linen and clothing closets, sheets, upholstery, rugs, towels, mattresses, pet beds, dryer balls, and washing machines.

It is not 100% necessary to use filtered water, but it is recommended due to the mineral buildup that regular tap water can leave behind.

It’s been so nice to have both of these homemade sprays and because these scents contain such warm and spicy notes, you can use them throughout the holidays!

And you? Do you indulge in toxic candles during the holidays? I really wish I didn’t. I have found many nice blends of essential oils and find that diffusing gives a lot of scent over a large area. I still love llamas and there is simply no essential oil blend that can match Yankee’s Pumpkin Spice for me!
